This article will provide a glimpse into the Doctrinal and Clinical Aspects of Dynamic Pharmacology.

Doctrinal Part

What is Hahnemann's scientific view of Dynamic Pharmacology?

Dynamic Pharmacology (Homoeopathic Medicine) is not naturopathy, osteopathy, acupuncture, chiropractic, herbalist, vitamin therapy, Chinese medicine, Auryvedic medicine or macrobiotic diet. It is a separate branch of medical science with laws and principles that have not changed in over 310 years, rich in dynamic pharmacology designed to take care of the whole person, mentally, emotionally and physically.

Homoeopathic Medicine deals directly with the Chemistry and Structure of the Physical Body by emphasizing directly with substances and energies of the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical realm. As a subjective medicine, it deals directly with energy that can be perturbed by the mental and emotional activity of the individual. There are various levels of energy in Nature that influence the human persona:

FUNCTION <---> STRUCTURE <---> CHEMISTRY
POSITIVE SPACE TIME <---> NEGATIVE SPACE TIME
SPIRIT <---> DIVINE

These equations express that human beings are multidimensional, living in a multidimensional universe. Therefore when these environments are disturbed, these levels cause perturbation to the flow of energy along the chain. Complete homeostasis at the physical level requires homeostasis at all levels; if they are out of balance, then complete homeostasis cannot exist at the physical level and disease infiltrates the structural and functional level of the human being. Now t overcome this imbalance, one must consult a Homoeopathic Physician who practices enrichment through Dynamic Pharmacology.

What is Vital Force?

The cardinal principles of Homoeopathic Medicine stands on the theory of Vital Force. Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, MD speaks of the vital force in aphorism 10 of his Organon stating: "the material organism without the vital force is capable of no sensation, no function, no self-preservation; it derives all sensations and performs all the functions of life solely by means of the immaterial being (the vital force) which animates the material organism in health and in disease."

In the healthy condition, it is the vital force which maintains normal functions and sensations of the organism. But when this vital force is dynamically deranged by morbific dynamic influence, it causes abnormal sensations and functions which are manifested outwardly through the material body by signs and symptoms, the totality of which constitutes the disease.

The nature of vital force has the following qualities: (a) Spiritual (b) Autocratic (c) Automatic (d) Dynamic and (e) Instinctive. Life=body + mind + spirit = Vital Force.

Spiritual This means immaterial. The vital force is immaterial and hence it is not perceptible to our senses. It is recognizable only by its effects when it works through the material body.
Autocratic Auto means self, keratos means power. So autocracy means self-powered. The organism maintains the integrity of one self. As a result, each being has his own Vital Force.
Automatic Vital force is a self-acting force which animates the whole organism. It reaches spontaneously to all stimuli against itself.
Dynamic Represents power and energy. This dynamic force penetrates every particle, cell and atom of the human economy. Without the vital energy, the cell or the whole body becomes inanimate and is dead.
Instinctive Means "inborn impulse."

These qualities dominate and control the material organism, and thus imparts life to it. The body moves, thinks, acts under the control of the Vital Force. All of our sensations and physiological functions, like respiration, circulation, digestion, excretion and immunity depend on it.

Clinical Aspect

What is a hormone?

Hormones are primarily information transferring molecules within the biological system. The function of hormones is to transfer information from one set of cells to another, for the good of the cell population as a whole. Hormones travel via the circulation pathway to affect one or more groups of different cells to elicit a typical physiological response in the cells. However, a single hormone may have multiple sites for synthesis rather than on specific site.

The thyroid gland sensationally and locationally has been long recognizes as a central component in the regulation of metabolic processes. Thyroid secretes hormones essential for regulating metabolism, normal growth and development.

The scientific effectiveness of handling Endocrine problems with Homoeopathy

All levels of sickness can be viewed as metabolic problems with clinical illness, which can be related to the disruption of normal functions of the endocrine system. When the healthy body becomes ill, it can develop degenerative conditions such as glaucoma, cataract, behavioral swings, impairment in myocardium function, progressive dementia of Alzheimer's disease, and generalized wasting due to AIDS. These types of conditions result in damaging the effectiveness of the endocrine (hormonal) system.

The hormonal system is involved at multiple levels in the maintenance of normal bodily functions and in response to the stresses which threatens the well being of the whole organism. In a pathological (precipitating derangement) condition, the system itself becomes the cause of the decomposition, which in homoeopathy represents the miasmatic condition. Now, due to the miasmatic nature of dynamic pathology, the body is unable to correct this condition by itself without appropriate dynamic application.
